Tucked away in a basket in a cozy corner, Millie awoke under her favorite blanket.

She stretched and wiggled her nose as she listened to the birds singing their morning songs.

The house was quiet and warm, just the way she liked it.

 

Slowly, Millie stepped out of her basket and walked to the window.

The sun shone softly in and a gentle breeze tickled her long ears.

She was already dreaming of the grass between her toes and the new flower crown she wanted to make.

 

She stepped outside, among the flowers, and picked the prettiest ones—bright yellow, bright pink, light blue, and deep purple. A few green leaves here and there, and she could start on her crown.

 

Suddenly there was a rustle in the grass and before she knew it, Roo, her adventurous friend, was standing in front of her.

“Good morning, Millie!” he said cheerfully. “Are you coming?”

 

Millie smiled shyly and put her flowers away safely. She skipped after Roo to the clearing where the sun warmed the grass.

 

And there, in the warmest ray of sunshine, lay Toby. The sleepyhead snored softly but woke briefly as they approached. "Hi, Toby," she whispered softly. She sat up and began on her flower crown. When she was finished, she placed it on Toby's head. His ears twitched, but a deep snore told her he was asleep again.

 

Just then, Quino, the mischievous prince, sprang out with a grin. "Look at those clouds! I see a castle and a throne! What do you see?"

 

They all lay down together and looked up at the slowly drifting clouds. Millie saw her beloved flowers, Roo saw an adventurous mountain, and Toby? He snored again.

 

The sun slowly set, and Millie felt sleepy. With her dear friends close by, she walked back home to her safe, warm bed.

 

She dreamed of flowers, adventure and a friend to share everything with.
